Nola E. Martin Carithers

Obituary
Nola E. Martin Carithers, 82, a lifelong resident of Ocoee, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Friday afternoon, March 29th, 2013 surrounded by her family. Nola was born on May 27th, 1930 a daughter of the late Troy & Susie Fowler. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church in Ocoee. Nola worked most of her life and retired from the Hardwick Clothes Company. She will be most remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly and cherished the time spent with each of them. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children James L. Martin and then also by her second husband Guy Carithers, two sisters Louise Matthews and Katy Martin.
Nola leaves behind to cherish her memory five sons Troy Martin of Ocoee, TN, Bill Martin and wife Carol of Lexington, NC, Tommy Martin and wife Ivadell of Ocoee, TN, David Martin and wife Pam of Ocoee, TN, Steve Martin of Ocoee, TN and one daughter Charlotte Lepard and husband Roy of Charleston, TN. She was a loving grandmother to several grandchildren. Nola is also survived by one brother Bill Brooks of Old Fort, TN and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Monday, April 1st, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cookson Creek Baptist Church located at 1686 Sand Mountain Road in Ocoee TN with the Reverend Lee Ingram and the Reverend Gerald Fowler officiating. Janet Martin, Tiffani Stamper and Michael Moats will provide the music. Interment will follow in the Cookson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday night, March 31st, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the 11:00 AM service on Monday.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Family Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ms. Nola during her illness.
