Nina Mae Fowler, 80, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 31,1942 to the late Mary Cancler-Hembree and Harvey Cancler. Family and faith were the most important parts of Nina's life. Nina was one of a kind; She was generous, caring, and loving. She was considered the center stone of her family and was highly endeared by all who knew her. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there for her family. She ensured the closeness of her family by gathering them together for every occasion and "Sunday Supper" every week at her home. Nina was young at heart enjoying socializing, bird-watching, shopping, camping, and boating.
Along with her parents, Nina is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Larry Fowler; her grandparents, Bart and Laura Godfrey; brother, Richard Breeden; and sister, Laura Mitchell.
Nina leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children: two daughters, Tonya (Keith) Knox, Candy (Michael) Clark; two sons, Larry (Kelly) Fowler, Gerald (Kendall) Fowler; grandchildren, Dustan (Dawn) Clark, Tanner (Candace) Clark, Alicia (William) Smith, Emily (Keith) Danniels, Christopher Clark, Erica (Tevin) Shaw, Nathan Fowler, Ben Fowler, Brittany (Derrick) O'Daniel, and Sarah Knox; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends including Joe and Pat Rymer
Visitation will be held December 11, 2022 at Companion Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Officiating will be John Cannon. On December 12, 2022, there will be a visitation held at Avenue Church at 11:00am. The service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Boanerges Cemetery.
