Obituary

On Sunday March 30th, 2014 Nellie Marie Kazy Smith, age 92, was called home. She is a lifelong resident of Bradley County. She passed away peacefully at her home. Nellie was born on October 6th, 1921 a daughter of the late James and Lillie Kazy. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Tasso United Methodist Church. Nellie worked at Hardwick Clothes and had retired after 65 years of faithful service.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Maynard Smith and siblings Mae Wilson, Maggie Bullington, Charlie Kazy, Oscar Kazy, Author Kazy, Taylor Kazy, Farlie Kazy, Roy Kazy and Harlin Kazy.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Thelma Kazy and a host of special nieces and nephews including her caregivers Cindy Coleman, Celsie Coleman, Jacob Ogle, Zac Young and Rita Doyle.

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday night, April 3rd, 2014 at the Philippi Baptist Church located at 2482 Harrison Pike NW in Cleveland, TN with the Dr. Sammy Hooker officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday afternoon from 5:00 PM until the 8:00 service time.

The interment and committal service will take place Friday, April 4th, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Zac Young, Timmy Doyle, Richard Chiusano, Charles Martin, Tatum Loftis and Calvin Milsaps serving as pallbearers. The funeral processional will leave the church at 12:30 PM on Friday.
