Nancy Townsend Paul

Nancy Townsend Paul, a resident of Riceville, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” This is Jeremiah 29:11 & 12, and it was Nancy Townsend Paul’s favorite scripture. You see, she knew the power of this passage and lived her life to the fullest while holding on to it’s truth up to the moment she passed away from this life. Nancy worked hard to help raise a family, serve her church, and share her love of music with many throughout the years by teaching piano. Nancy was born on April 16th 1938 to Walter and Pauline Townsend. She grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee. She attended Belmont & Union Universities where she studied music. She met the love of her life, Bill Paul, and they were married on April 28th 1962. They had been married 57 years. Together they had four sons. Timothy Alan (Heather), William Todd (Kelli), Walter Tyson, and Ashley Terrance – who passed away as an infant. She also had 1 granddaughter, Kaitlin Ashley, who was the heartbeat of her life. Nancy served as the pianist for North Cleveland Baptist Church for over 50 years. She directed the hand bell choir and coordinated for the Senior Adult Ministry. She was a member of the Cleveland Music Club for over 40 years.
You are invited to join us as we celebrate, reminisce, and honor the life of Nancy Townsend Paul Monday, July 8th at North Cleveland Baptist Church, 2815 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37312. Visit with the family from 5 – 7pm and then join us for a celebration at 7pm. Dr. Jay McCluskey, Nancy’s pastor, will be officiating. We’ll gather on Tuesday morning, July 9th at 11am at Calhoun Community Cemetery at for a short graveside service – all are welcome!
