Nadine Moore, age 87 of Charleston, departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at her home. Born on September 16, 1933 in Franklin County, Illinois to the late Thomas and Pauline Hawkins, she was a longtime resident of Bradley County and a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, working at the concession stand at the ballpark where hundreds of children knew her as Mamaw, and spending time with her family and was “Aunt Naye” to several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bud” Moore; siblings, Edward, Everett, and Kenneth Hawkins, Ruth Wright, Harold Hawkins, and Hazel Rich.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Rebecca) Moore and Becky(Bill) Gray; grandchildren, Stacey Ridgell(James), Amanda Peticolas(Matthew), and James Gray(China); great-grandchildren, Jeni, Cera, Dakota, and Amber; siblings, Betty Wilburn , Wanda Walters, Thomas Hawkins, and Linda Pallecone; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for MelvaNadine Hawkins Moore will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Reverend Patrick Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in Chilcut United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
