Myrtle Pankey Lawson

Myrtle L. Pankey Lawson, 81, a lifelong resident of this area passed away on Tuesday morning, December 27th, 2016 at her home. She ws born on October 18th, 1935 in Benton, TN a daughter of the late Earnest & Ressie Pankey. She was a member of Chilcutt United Methodist Church. Myrtle was a loving and devoted housewife who took great pride in :Keeping Her Family Straight”. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens, canning and making her famous holiday meals.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death one son Gary Lawson, one granddaughter Kristy Lawson, one sister Hazel Pankey Burris and one brother James Pankey.

Mrytle leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 65 years Eugene Lawson, one son Ronnie Lawson and his wife Sherry, four grandchildren Nicole Lawson Hugdins (Reagon), Tabitha Lawson Roblyer (Doug), Joshua Clinton Lawson and Hunter K. M. Lawson (Hope) and three great grandchildren Domiano, Skyler (whom she thought of as her pride and joy) and Paxton. She is also survived by two sisters Ruth Pankey Godfrey and Mildred Pankey McAlister (Clyde), one brother E. L. Pankey (Louise), numerous other extended family member and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday night, December 29th, 2016 at 8:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with Chaplin Marv Eskew officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 5:00 PM until the 8:00 PM service time.

The interment and committal service will take place on Friday afternoon, December 30th, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chilcutt United Methodist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

In lieu, of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in Mryle’s memory to either Hearth Hospice or to the Chilcutt UMC Church Cemetery fund.
