Myrna Lee Hopkins, 73, of Cleveland, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 25, 2017. She was born on March 2, 1944 in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada to Rev. Glenn C. and Ruth Pettyjohn. Myrna was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and Lee College. While at Lee, she traveled on numerous mission trips with the Pioneers for Christ. Myrna was also a loved teacher at Michigan Avenue Elementary School. She was a member of North Cleveland Church of God for over 60 years where she participated in youth ministry, Ladies Prayer and Praise Group and the Lydia Circle. For many years she sang and led a Bible study at the Bradley County Nursing Home. Myrna was an encourager to many people with her words, poems, and writings. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Jesse and Flossie Cox and Mose and Sarah Pettyjohn; parents Rev. Glenn C. and Ruth Pettyjohn and her beloved daughter Jill Hopkins Maggirwar. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Ray Hopkins, son in law Rajesh Maggirwar, daughter Trinka (Bill) McClure; sisters Gaye (Jerry) Smith, Carol Pettyjohn; uncle John Cox; nieces and nephews: Heather (Clint) Jenkins, Allison (Tim) Allen, Tony Black, Tami Hatfield, Kelly (Glenn) Street, Brody Jenkins, Caroline Jenkins, Lucy Allen, Jessica (Anthony) Salas, Chip Freeman and many extended family members and friends. Myrna's family would also like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and Helping Hands of Cleveland. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel with Pastor Mark Williams, Dr. David Blair, and Pastor Cy Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rick Hyde, Steve Hyde, Franklin Odom, Bob Reffner, Ed Brown, and Eddie Jones to serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the new Children's Ministry Center at North Cleveland Church of God.
