Morris Lewis, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at a Cleveland TN healthcare facility. He was born in Edgefield County, South Carolina on November 3, 1929 to the late John C. Lewis and Clara Viola Collins Lewis. Morris was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Signa Corp in Korea. He retired from Greenwood Mills Mathew Plant Number 2 after over 41 years of service. He was a faithful Christian of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ruby Brown Lewis, brothers John Herman Lewis and James Courtland Lewis, sisters Velma L. Cox and Margaret Boggs, and grandson Cody Tatum.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Lewis and children Gerald Tatum, Kim Hybarger (Charlie) and Donna Bales (D. J. ), grandchildren Cole Tatum, Casey Hybarger and Allie Bales, great grandchildren Skylar Penley Tatum, Cheyenne Tatum, Marley Tatum, Hadley Walker, Lakeley Walker all of Cleveland, Tennessee. Also a very special nephew Ronnie Lewis of Greenwood, South Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN.
A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
