Mildred Marie Kirby

Mildred Marie Kirby, 82 of Charleston, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. She was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong resident of the area. Mildred’s passion was gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting and quilting and spending time socializing with her friends and neighbors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lou Eldora Mantooth; son, Scott Franklin Jones; and brother, Reynold Mantooth.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Karen (Thomas) Burns, Vicky (Delane) Brock, Tamela Brown, Sonya (Jerry) Branam, and Margaret (Ronnie) Estes; sister, Joyce Mays; grandchildren, Steve, Sherry, Cecil, Melissa, Tracey, Preston, Matthew, Amber, and April; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, September 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland. Additional visitation will be held from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 also at Companion. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00PM with Pastor Joe Hatcher officiating. Mildred will be laid to rest in the Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery in Ocoee.
