Obituary

Mildred Dixon, 87, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, October 11th, 2014 from Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Mildred was born on June 4th, 1927 in Polk county a daughter of the late Jake and Nanniekate Franklin. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. Mildred loved reading her Bible and was very gifted at making crafts. Most of all she enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Spencer Jerome Dixon and one son Michael Dixon known as “Big Red”.

Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory one son and daughter in law Johnny & Rita Franklin, six grandchildren Donna Brock, Johnny Franklin (Teri), Stephanie Greene (Michael), Amanda Whitley, Michael Dixon and Seth Dixon, nine great grandchildren Jake Brock, Joshua Brock, Hagan Franklin, Braylee Franklin, Elijah Greene, Judah Greene, Micah Greene, Zion Greene & Justin Baliles, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday evening, October 14th, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Eric Geren and Pastor Gary Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
