Obituary
Mike Long, 51, a resident of Cleveland passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday morning, March 21st, 2013. Mike was a lifelong resident of Cleveland being born here on September 7, 1961 a son of the late Benny Mac Long. Mike was a long time employee of Peyton’s Southeastern with over thirty years of service. He was a member of the Hopewell Church of God. Mike was an avid Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves fan. He was a devout Christian who loved and cherished his family and spending time with them.
In addition to his father Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents Mayford & Mae Ogle and Rue & Minnie Long.
Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of twenty two years Delores Johns Long, two daughters Hannah Long and Leeann Parris, his mother Nancy Long, one brother Terry Long, two grandchildren Kailee Parris and Chase Parris all of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous other family members, church family, and countless friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday night, March 24th, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Hopewell Church of God located at 5765 Eureka Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Jerry Millwood officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time at Hopewell Church of God.
A committal service will be held on Monday, March 25th, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jeff Thompson, Nick Calia, Caleb Johns, John Austin, Billy Jacobs and Wayne Kersey serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Hopewell Church of God benevolence fund in Mike’s memory.
