Michael Spencer Whelan

Michael Spencer Whelan, 33, of Chattanooga, TN died on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
Spence was a graduate from Chattanooga State Community College and attended UTC to study environmental law.
Spence loved his family and was a devoted father, friend, son, brother and nephew. Spence loved life and was constantly finding new ways to experience it with his son and his friends. Spencer loved life so much that he wanted to allow others the opportunity to live through his death, by donating his organs.
Spence is survived by his son Turner Whelan and Turner’s mother, Ashley Carter of Griffin, GA. His father Wyman Whelan and mother Janet Loftis Whelan. His brother Chris Whelan (Stephanie and Scotty). Uncles Don Loftis (Sandy); Aunts Darlene Crabtree, Kay Hill (Ronnie), Ann Robbins (Ross), and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Spencer’s life will be held Saturday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux, in Cleveland, TN.
Family will be receiving friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
