Michael Wayne Jefferson II, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2024, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He is now reunited with his cherished wife, Heather Jefferson, who passed away in November 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was born to Jody Jefferson and Michael Jefferson I. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Hallie Wampler and Makalya Jefferson. Makayla is the proud mother of Bella Degrasse, Michael's treasured granddaughter. Michael is also survived by his loving grandmother, Ann Kelly.
He leaves behind his brother, Harbor Jefferson, and sister, Genevieve Akbarut, who, along with her husband, Jamal Akbarut, held a special place in Michael's heart. He was a loving uncle to his nieces, Lake-lynn, Raelyn, and Layla, who affectionately referred to him as their "Uncle Monkey." Michael's memory will be cherished by his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael graduated from Bradley Central High School and went on to become a dedicated warehouse manager at Scott's Furniture, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. Michael was a joy to be around, known for his thunderous spirit and warm heart.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on August 3, 2024, at Companion Chapel. Visitation will be Noon-2:00, with services to follow. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their fondest memories of Michael.
