Michael Dooley

August 24, 1961 — June 22, 2024

On June 22, 2024 Michael "Mike" Thomas Dooley age 62, left this earth to go to his heavenly home surrounded by family. This was following a brief battle with cancer.

Mike is survived by his children and caretakers Amber (Todd) Olinger, son Tyler Dooley, and son Jeffrey Dooley. Mike is also survived by his parents Jack Dooley - father, Sue Dooley - mother, sister Patte (Larry) Kayne, grandchildren Aiden Olinger, Ian Dooley, Zoe Dooley, and several special friends.

Mike's entire adult life has been devoted to public safety. His passion was taking care of his fellow man, woman, and child. Saving the lives of people he had never known before. .

Mike began his public safety career in 1981 with Bradley County Civil Defense Fire/Rescue as a volunteer and later retired as lieutenant. From 1982-1988 he served Bradley County EMS as an EMT. From 1988-1996 he served the Bradley County Sheriff's Office as a dispatcher and reserve deputy. From 1996-2011 he served as a 911 dispatcher for the Cleveland/Bradley County Consolidated 911 Communication Center.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, July 1, at Mt. Olive Church of God located at 3522 Harrison Pike in Cleveland from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, at Mt. Olive Church of God at 10:00 am with Pastor James Sears and Pastor Bill Griffith officiating along with speakers Tyler Dooley and Chief Dewey Woody. A graveside service is to follow at Lebanon Cemetary with Gene Gentry, Aaron Wood, Mike Patterson, Wes Davis, Jimmy Woody, Rusty Rymer, Mike Mckeever, Jerry Johnson, Mickey Casson, and Dr. Jerry Devane serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bradley County Fire/Rescue.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude & thanks to the entire staff at Hearth Hospice, Preferred Cherokee Pharmacy, and TN Oncology (Cleveland office) for all of their outstanding care & professionalism during this trying time.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the 24/7 Movement.
