Michael Day

Michael (Mike) Patrick Day went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2023 after battling an illness. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War era and was of the Christian faith. He was a lifelong Auburn Tigers fan and grew up near the campus. He was a proud fan of the Atlanta Braves as well. He could be seen walking the Cleveland Greenway with his beloved dog, Jake. He always enjoyed playing his guitars, singing, and telling stories. He was recently employed by Daybreak Suites - Cleveland.

He was proceeded in death by his Mother, Gloria Yvonne Hawkins of Griffin, Georgia; Father, John C. Day of Columbus, Georgia; Sister, Gloria Dianne Day Vigh of Griffin, Georgia; and Nephew, Justin Day of Menifee, California.

He is survived by his Daughter, Summer Elaina Day of Griffin, Georgia; Brother, John Day of Menifee, California; Sister-in-law, Teresa Day of Menifee, California; Two grandchildren, Shyanna Michele Day, and Johnathan Charles Daniel Harmon of Griffin, Georgia; Nephew, Aaron Michael Vigh of Griffin, Georgia; his Nieces, Chrystal Day, and Hollye Day of Menifee, California, and Destiny Deloss of Griffin, Georgia; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Mike was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend and will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Fort Hill Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Guinn Green officiating.
