Obituary

Michael David Jones went home on Tuesday, June 24th. As the owner of Jones Lawn and Landscaping, he made many friends in the Cleveland/Bradley county area. He was passionate about his work and took great pride in it. Starting from an old trailer and one lawnmower he built a respectable business that gave him great joy and pride. Polk County football was always a topic of conversation, and he loved his alma mater and what it stood for. He could be seen at many games in the end zone cheering on “his” team. Most people in the area also knew Mike as “Kid Rock”, because he looked just like him. In his off time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, and watching old movies. Mike was a loving and devoted father to his son Matt. He will always be remembered by those who knew him as a compassionate, loving person who helped those in need, and gave back as much as he was given.

He is survived by his Son Matthew Jones, Mother Faye Barrett, Father Clarence Jones, Stepfather Walter “Dub” Barrett, brothers Tim Jones, Keith Barrett, and sister Kim Barrett. He also had several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Mike will be missed by all, but his spirit will live in all of us forever. Rock On Mike, Rock On.

The family will receive friends from 5-8PM, Saturday June 28th at Companion Funeral Services. There will be a procession from the funeral home at 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 29th to Boanerges Baptist Church cemetery with family and friends as pallbearers for internment. The family would like to thank all of the people who shared their stories, memories, and love with us during this difficult time.
