Michael Cress

Michael Alan Cress II, age 53, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2023. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and dear brother. Born on April 25th, 1971, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Michael brought joy and love to everyone around him.

After graduating from George Walton Comprehensive High School, Michael attended UCLA and was a member of the UCLA Mens Golf Team; he went on to graduate from Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, where he was also a member of the Georgia Tech Mens Golf team. Michael enjoyed a length career in Finance, as a Securities Consultant at Interstate/Johnson Lane, SVP at UBS, and SVP at Merrill Lynch. Michael is also the former Executive Director at Coventry Place Senior Living.

An avid golfer, Michael enjoyed traveling the country competing in USGA Amateur Tournaments. Those who knew him will fondly remember his devotion to the arts, especially fashion. His passion and skill in photography was a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his daughter. Michaels sense of humor and love of all things vintage (movies, music, and style) will live on forever in our hearts.

Michael is survived by his wife, Meghan (Brown) Cress, and their children, Morgan, Michael III, and Mason Cress. He was the loving son of Michael A Cress Sr. and Janice (Jones) Cress.

Michael is also survived by his sister, Kristina Nicole (Cress) Evans, her husband, Chad Evans, and their children, Lily, Jackson, and Anna Bella. The family will be forever grateful for the love and support received during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Michael's memory to Furkids.org.  Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His love, kindness, and resilience will be his legacy that continues to inspire us all.
