Michael Burgess

Michael Burgess, 70, of Cleveland, TN, passed away February 21, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Frank & Lorene Burgess. He was of the Christian faith. Michael loved his grandchildren. He loved music, enjoyed playing the guitar. Michael loved TN football and in his younger years, was an avid jogger.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Champion Burgess; daughter, Casey Burgess; brother, Frank Burgess, III.

Survived by his loving daughter, Kristan Burgess; siblings, Lynn Partenberry (Jerry), Jeffrey Burgess, and Kent Burgess; grandchildren, Khandra Tenorio (Jason), Haiden Bolton, and Ari Gordon; great-grandchildren, Aurora DiCola; daughter on earth, Amanda Hampton; best friend, Eddie Hampton; and beloved dog, Molly.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Companion Funeral Home followed by the service in the chapel at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held at Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery after the service. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hampton, Kent Burgess, Ryan Crago, Claude Mowery, Mark Freeman, and David LaBine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of his late wife or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in honor of his youngest daughter.
