Michael Arnett

July 27, 1941 — March 15, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Arnett, who departed this world on March 15, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN. He was 82 years old. Michael lived a life marked by love, hard work, and a genuine passion for the things that brought him joy.


Born to Ferdinand and Erma Arnett, Michael grew up in a household filled with warmth and compassion. He was a man of many talents and passions, but perhaps none brought him greater joy than his time spent boating and fishing on Chickamauga Lake with his cherished friends. The tranquility of the water and the camaraderie of his companions brought him solace and contentment.


Michael was known for his unwavering work ethic and his penchant for keeping busy with various home projects. Whether he was tending to his beloved garden or engaging in DIY endeavors around the house, he approached each task with determination and enthusiasm.


A kindhearted and generous soul, Michael touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and share whatever he had with those in need. His selflessness and compassion were a beacon of light in the lives of many.


A devoted fan of Coach Andy Reid, Michael's passion for football knew no bounds. He followed Coach Reid's career from Green Bay to Kansas City, cheering on his favorite team with unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm.


Above all else, Michael's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He loved and supported his wife, Carol, with unwavering devotion. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be cherished by his son, Michael Bellamy, and his daughters, Laura Wickliff and Elizabeth Ashley Arnett. Michael also leaves behind his siblings, Patrick Arnett, Tim Arnett, Joyce Townsend, and Sally Arnett, as well as his grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Arnett.


A devout Christian, Michael's faith was the cornerstone of his life. His belief in God guided him through both joyous and challenging times, and he lived each day with the conviction of his Christian values.


Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Erma Arnett, his son, Michael Arnett II, and several sisters.


Though Michael may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.


His care has been entrusted to Companion Funeral and Cremation Services, Chattanooga Chapel, the maily will have a private celebration of life at a later date to honor and celebrate Michael's life.
