Meghan Richt Hyatt, 38, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on August 7, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1985 to Dr. Jerry and Melody Richt.
Meghan Richt Hyatt, a beloved daughter, sister, friend to many and cat mom, passed away on August 7th, 2024 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born on August 20th, 1985 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Jerry and Melody Richt. Meghan was the cherished sister of Ryan and Chelsey Richt.
Meghan's life was characterized by her deep love for animals. She had an unwavering compassion for all creatures great and small. Her heart overflowed with kindness as she dedicated herself to advocating for the welfare of animals throughout her lifetime. In addition to her love for animals, Meghan was an avid reader who found solace within the pages of countless books. Her thirst for knowledge knew no bounds as she delved into various genres and authors with unyielding curiosity. A traveler at heart, Meghan sought adventure wherever she went. From exploring distant lands to immersing herself in different cultures - each journey left an indelible mark on her soul. Meghan recently accomplished a long time goal of receiving her bachelor of science degree at UTC. She was unbelievably proud of herself, as was her family.
Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled; however it is through our memories of her that we find comfort during this difficult time.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Jene R. and Marion Plemons and Allen and Shirley Kennard Richt.
In addition to her parents, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings: Ryan Jerry Richt (Joe) and Chelsey Catelyn Richt and her beloved cats Jasper and Flo.
Her life celebration will be held in the Ridge Chapel at Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW on Sunday August 11th at 7pm where friends and family will gather to honor Meghan's memory. Her family will receive friends from 5pm until the service at 7pm. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Humane Society in Meghan's name as a tribute to her lifelong dedication towards animal welfare.
Meghan touched so many lives with her warmth and generosity; she will forever live on in our hearts.
