Meddie "Jearldine" Jennings Everhart

Meddie “Jearldine” Jennings Everhart, 73, passed away at her home in Riceville on July 30, 2018, after suffering with various health problems and declining health. She was born April 16, 1945, in Jefferson County, TN, the first of nine children born to Todd and Virena (Gann) Jennings. The family moved to Bulls Gap, Tennessee, in 1961 when Jeraldine was sixteen. From Bulls Gap, the family moved to Riceville, TN where Jearldine spent the remainder of her life caring for her children, grandchildren and special nieces and nephews who were always around her. She was the “go to” person any time there was an illness in her very large family. In her younger years at home, she sewed and quilted with her mother and sister. But her favorite pastime was crocheting, which she learned to do as a young adult. She was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of Piedmont Baptist Church, Piedmont, TN. Although she worked outside the home, she was better known to be a homemaker. She never met a stranger and always welcomed others with a smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents L. W. (Todd) and Virena Gann Jennings, her oldest son, Leslie Carter (Robin) Everhart; granddaughter Melinda Robinson, great grandson Kenneth Robinson, infant brother David Jennings, nephew Eric Schutt all of Riceville.

She is survived by loving daughters Virena Everhart Robison and Rebecca Everhart; sons Verlin Jack & Ray Everhart, all of Riceville; Grandson Adam Everhart; granddaughters; Betsy Everhart Bailey of Athens, Rachel Robison of Meigs, Felicia Robison of Athens, Alicia and Peyton Sizemore of Athens, Amanda Beasley of Riceville, Jessica Everhart of Riceville and several great grandchildren; sisters Lorene (Bobby-deceased) Jennings Ramsey and Christine (Sam) Jennings Robbins of Riceville, Maxine (Bobby) Jennings Plemons of Calhoun, Allieen (Pete-deceased) McGuire of Niota; brothers Leslie (Betty) Jennings, Jr. of Knoxville, Donald (Kathy) Jennings and M. Richard (Jane) Jennings of Riceville.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Roberts Cemetery in Ten Mile, TN with the Reverend Bill Pearman officiating. Josh Alexander, Peyton Sizemore, Bobby Rodgers, Ray Everhart, Adam Everhart and Jeremy Ramsey serving as pallbearers.
