Maxfield Parris

August 20, 1934 — November 28, 2024

Max graduated from Central High School in 1954 where he was a star quarterback. He joined the Army and married his wife of 69 years, Cathie.

They had 2 daughters Vickie Silvers (Jeff) and Karen Parris Phillips (Stan). 2 grandchildren Matt Silvers ( Fawn) and Candace Hodges (Kyle) . 4 great grandchildren Knox, Harper, Merritt and Beau.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Edward Parris and Ida H Parris.

Max was in the retail grocery business for 10 years. He and Cathie then built and operated Pet Inn Kennels for 25 years. Max became a well known dog trainer and gave obedience training seminars all over the US. He also wrote and published 2 obedience training manuals.

After he retired he became an avid golfer and could be seen at the golf course often. Max was also a Ham radio operator for several years.

He and Cathie led a full life and enjoyed boating and scuba diving. He had the gift of gab and loved entertaining all with his stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will have a graveside service on Tuesday December 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
