Matthew Jordan Hughes, 26, a resident of Georgetown, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born on August 19, 1991 in Knoxville, TN. Matthew was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed playing his guitar, but loved spending the majority of his free time being “Daddy” to Marley and Maizy.
Matthew leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of six years Ashton Grisham Hughes, two daughters that were the apple of his eye Marley Jordyn Hughes (age 5) and Maizy Grace Hughes (age 2), parents Melissa McFall (Johnny) and Anthony Hughes (Charlene) all of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by three brothers Tyler Lee, Anthony Lee and Jon Hughes, seven step brothers and sisters, his grandparents George & Patricia Hughes, Aubrey & Gayle McRae and Jean & Lee Phillips, his mother and father in law Bryan & Candy Grisham, grandparents in law Keath & Hackie Grisham, sisters and brothers in laws: Sydney Cole, Bryann Pressley (Jacob), Darcy Rose (Cpl. Mason Rose) and Bryan Grisham II and his cousin and best friend Jake Moody (Meghan). Several nieces, nephews, numerous other extended family members, his work family at Lubing Systems and a host of special friends also survive.
A graveside service is planned for Wednesday afternoon, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Beech Springs Cemetery on the Grisham family farm located at 197 Old No Pone Road in Georgetown, TN with the Reverend Daniel Oliver and the Reverend David Cross officiating. Pallbearers will include Tyler Lee, Anthony Lee, Jon Hughes, Jacob Pressley, Jake Moody and Bryan Grisham II.
