Matthew Bunch

Matthew "Matt" Carlton Bunch, 25, passed away on March 21, 2024. He was born on September 03, 1998 in Cleveland, TN to Paula and Mark Bunch. Throughout life, he struggled with disabilities and autism, but made the best of it.

Matt Bunch was an innocent soul taken from us too soon. He enjoyed getting to spend time with his family while also being in the mountains. Gatlinburg, the Smokey Mountains, and Dollywood were his favorite places in the world; places that would make his face light up by only the mention of it. Although, his favorite place would have to be Cherokee National Forest "Bald River Falls." A few hours before his passing, he got to go visit his Cades Cove, in the Smokey Mountains. He may not be with us now, but he will forever be in our hearts and with the sound of joy.

Matthew was preceded by his uncle Benjamin "Ben" Bunch, and his great grandmother Sitha Ann Bunch. He is survived by his father, Mark Bunch; His mother, Paula Bunch; and his sister, Kayla Bunch; his grandparents, Jimmy and Betty Bunch, Kenneth and Brenda Vogus, Marsha Sisson; and several cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Matthew on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral & Cremation Care, 400 S. White St., Athens, TN 37303. There will two hours of visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
