MaryAnn Borst, 92, was born February 4,1930 and passed peacefully from this life September 15th,
2022. A native of Newton, Iowa, MaryAnn grew up in Maytag Park where she learned a love of water and
gardening. Her employment in United Airlines brought her to Denver where she met and fell in love with
her husband, Max Borst.
Together they returned to Newton and remained there for the next 30 years. In that time, they had two
wonderful sons, Kevin and Michael. Mary Ann shared her love of water with her sons, being an active
participant in her sons’ swim meets and activities, as well as managing the country club pool. MaryAnn
extended this same dedication to her community when she established a thriving bridal boutique and
services that lasted for 25 years.
In 1982, they moved to Tennessee where they have been for the last 31 years. In this time MaryAnn had
been active at Broad Street United Methodist Church serving as the bridal and wedding coordinator and
singing in the choir. Her spare time was spent gardening, and enjoying life as a mom and grandma.
MaryAnn is survived by her beloved husband Max, preceded in death by her sons Kevin and Michael,
and leaves behind her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Memorial service will be Tuesday September 27,2022 at 5pm at Broad Street United
Methodist Church in Cleveland.
