Mary Sue Pflug

Mary Sue Pflug, 69, of Ooltewah, TN passed away quietly after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Evelyn and Darius L. Jones. Her brother, Charles Jones, also preceded her in death.

Sue was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Education from UTC. A veteran educator, she taught in Hamilton County Schools for 33 years where she had the distinction of being named Teacher of the Year. Following
her retirement, she enjoyed substitute teaching at East Brainerd Elementary. She influenced countless lives and will be missed greatly by many people.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Daniel Paul (Danny) Pflug; sons: Patrick Sallee (Mandy) and her two granddaughters, Evelyn and Claire Sallee, all of Asheville NC, and Jason Pflug (Deborah) of Chattanooga, TN.

Due to COVID 19, the family will host a gathering of friends to honor Sue’s life at a later date.
