Mary Ricker

Mary E. Ricker, 70, a lifelong resident of Athens, TN went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born in Athens, TN on October 16, 1953, a daughter of the late Albert & Willa Mae Martin. She was a devoted member of the Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle. Mary enjoyed shopping, going on vacations, but most of all spending time with her family. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will forever remember her for the big heart she had.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one son Paul Arthur Sherwood, one brother James Martin and one sister Irene Key.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons Hank Sherwood of Cleveland, Jeff Sherwood of Athens, and David & Lisa Sherwood of Riceville, three brothers David Martin of Delano, Joe Hamby (Phyllis) and Ronnie Martin (Donna) both of Georgia, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle located at 245 County Road 677 in Riceville, TN. A service celebrating her life will follow the visitation time at 1:00 PM with Brother Anthony Wynn officiating.

The interment and committal service will follow in the Buttram Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
