Mary Key, age 87 of Cleveland, departed this life on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her residence. Born on September 4, 1934 to the late Jake and Ella Moore Goforth in McMinn County, she was a longtime resident of Cleveland and a member of Short Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Athens Products and loved yard-saling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Morrow and Melvin Key; daughter, Janice Wooden; son, Tim Morrow; siblings, Dale Goforth, Irene Richardson, Annabell Sneed, Dean Emmitt, JoAnn Bailey, Fred Goforth, Harvey Goforth, Jimmy Goforth, J.C. Goforth, Edna Swafford, and Patricia Sorer.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Fred Morrow, Donnie Morrow (Jackie), and Mark Key(Sonya); stepdaughters, Michelle Runyan and Rebecca Cass; grandchildren, Michelle, Chuck, Shauna, Donnie Ray, Shane, Whitney, Jake, Anthony, Brandy, Brad, and David; sister, Joyce Johnson; and 26 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Mary Opal Goforth Morrow Key will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the Short Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Saturday.
