Mary Opal Collins

Mary Collins, age 74, of Athens, TN, departed this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was of the Christian faith and was a member of Ascension Life Church of Athens, TN. She was an avid writer and photographer. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and traveling to different places with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles & Willa Mae Hamby, daughter Missy Jarvis, brothers Gene Hamby and Jimmy Hamby and one sister Wanda Wheeler.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory one son Tracy Jarvis, two daughters Kim Jarvis and Tanjie Delmas and her husband George, seven grandchildren Josh Womac, Cayla Pilkey, Eli Baxter, Jennifer Sutter, Brittany Parish, Telly Jarvis and Jaxson Jarvis, five great grandchildren Madelyn and Brooklyn Suttle, Mason Davis, Eizlyn Titus and Aubree Jarvis, four sisters Brenda Hamby, Glenda Hamby, Janice Lawson and Joann Blankenship, numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN. A service celebrating her life will follow the visitation time at 7:00 PM.
