Mary Louise Stokes

Mary Louise Stokes, 71, of Decatur, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 6, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed her days working in her flower gardens as well as spending time with her family and friends. She spent her Sundays with her church family who she adored. Louise was an amazing mother and a Godly woman. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church of Decatur, TN. She gave her all to her family and made the greatest sacrifices for them. She put God and everyone else before herself. Louise is loved and will be remembered and missed by all her family, church family and many others.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Stokes, and her son Steve “Bones” Stokes.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters Brenda Millsaps and husband Junior of Athens, TN and Mary Ensley and husband Dewayne of Decatur, TN, four sons David Stokes and wife Kristy, Bobby Stokes and wife Teresa, Randy Stokes and wife Christi and Adam Stokes and his companion Sissy Baker all of Decatur, TN , daughter in law Marion Stokes, four sisters Hazel Ricker, Carolyn Filyaw, Darlene Fairbanks and Nancy Goforth all of Decatur, TN, 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren, dear friend Brenda Skinner, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church located at 7785 Old Highway 30 E, Decatur, TN with the Reverend Gary Rolen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will follow the funeral in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery with her sons and grandsons David, Bobby, Randy, Adam, Cody, Correy, Jonathan and Matt serving as pallbearers.
