Mary Smith

Mary Lee "Mary Lee" Smith, 80, of Soddy Daisy, Tn passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. She was born Mary Lee Curl on September 28, 1944 in Sidney, Ohio. Prior to moving to Tennessee, Mary Lee worked at both the Pentagon and CRB out of Washington DC and Alexandria, Va which she eventually retired from.

Mary Lee has made the Tennessee Valley area her home for the past 23 years. She enjoyed family time and going to church. She was a devout Christian and had been an active member of White Oak Baptist Church until she began having health issues.

Mary Lee's greated joys in life where her family and the simple pleasures she found in them. She had a passion for scrapbooking, playing scrabble, and enjoying time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a great love for animals. She would bring them all home to live with her if she could.

Mary Lee leaves behind two sons; Jeffrey and Scotty Smith. Her sister Debbie Turner, 2 nieces; Tauna Davis Heisler and Jill Parthemore, grandchildren; Elizabeth Smith, Destiny (Josh) Bennett, Clinton Smith, Michael (Misty) Jarrell, Jonathan (Allie) Jarrell, Breanna Jarrell, Jacob Jarrell and 2 of her life long friends, Fran Kline and Lyn Jennings.

Mary Lee is preceded in death by her devoted husband; Dennis Wayne Smith, daughter; Deanna Lynn Jarrell, and parents; Gail and Bertha Curl.

Final care has been entrusted to Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, Cleveland Chapel. Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
