March 10, 1951 — March 31, 2024

Mary Ruth Hodges King, 73, of Decatur Tennessee, gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel Hodges and her grandparents. Siblings: Barbara Gale (Terry) Hodges, Linda Mosier, Johnny (Homer) Hodges, Dorothy Martin, Danny (Gabby) Hodges. Sisters in law: Deborah (Debbie) Hodges, Millie King, Janet King. Brothers in law: Bobby Mosier, Larry King, Paul King, Randy King.

She is survived by her husband, Rick King. Sisters: Joyce Vann (Danny), Kathy Bowers (Farrell), Louise Alday (Richard), Linda Hall (Randy). Brothers: Tom Hallowell, Jerry (Jo) Hodges, Bobby Dye, James Dye. Sisters in law: Patricia (Pat) Hodges, Linda Brown (Ed), Brenda King Vance. Brothers in law: Tony Travers (Val), Roger King. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a very special nephew and niece, Jerry Eugene Hodges and Jodie Morgan.

Mary was married to Rick, the love of her life. They were together for 43 years! He kept her entertained! Mary was a Christian who loved the Lord. Mary also loved reading her Bible, gospel music, her family and friends. Mary really enjoyed her yearly sister trips. Mary loved to cook and was a caregiver to many!

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a funeral service at 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service in Athens, Tennessee with Reverend Garry King officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:000 pm at Hampton Cemetery in Englewood, Tennessee.  The family will serve as pallbearers.

The family of Mrs. Mary King would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, phone calls, text messages, words of encouragement, support, and love.
