July 20, 1939 — February 25, 2022

Mary Frances Hooker, 82, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away surrounded by her loving family at AdventHealth Gordan in Calhoun, Ga. On February 25, 2022. Born July 20, 1939, to the late George Harrington, Sr. and Clarabelle Smith Harrington in Urbana, Ohio and of the Christian faith. She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma, which were her favorite occupations she served during her life. Mary said her promotions kept getting better and better. She loved to read, do crosswords, quilt, flea marketing, traveling- especially to yard sale back “home” in Ohio to bring back and resell. Mary got a kick out of reality TV, would get tickled pink when she spent her $20 monthly budget on lottery tickets and would scratch a winner, and made many trips with friends to Cherokee, NC. She was always active and present in the lives of her 7 children, her 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandbabies. She wouldn’t miss a celebration and was always the life of the party. Mary was always there for everyone, giving even when she had nothing to give. She retired many years ago from Walmart in Dalton Georgia where she left behind many friends to this day.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 2 previous husbands, Hurbert Adams and John Edward Hooker; daughters, Debra Adams Foster, Carol Ann Adams Hampton; sons, Stanley Adams, Kevin Tracey Adams, Grandson William Hampton.
