Mary Ellen Hixson

Mary Ellen Hixson, 84 of Cleveland passed away on Monday May 1st, 2017 in a local healthcare facility. She was born on November 28th, 1932 to Marvin Sr. and Lyda Gibbs in Hunstville Alabama. She loved the outdoors, working in her yard, watching her grandchildren in the pool and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin Gibbs Sr. and Lyda Gibbs, her two brothers Marvin Gibbs Jr. and Rex Gibbs, her husband Robert Hixson, her son Greg Hixson and her neighbor and best friend Ruby Ward.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Yolanda Goode, son Tracy Hixson (wife Pam) grandchildren- Tamara Seaton (husband Jason), Jason Goode (wife Christi), Dustin Hixson, Tyler Hixson, Ali Hixson, Joseph Hixson (wife Jareshae), great grandchildren – Devin Moore, Brayden Goode, Makenna Goode, Austin Hixson, Paige Hixson, Bryde Hixson, Anthonee Hixson, Jeremija Hixson, Chrystian Hixson, Ella Hixson, Taylor Ruth and Blaine Ruth, one sister Sara Lewis and sister-in-laws Joann Gibbs and Faye Day and brother-in-law Kenneth Hixson.
A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, May 7th, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday night, March 6th, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the funeral home parlor.
