Mary Ellen Dunn Ingram Quarles, age 95 of Cleveland, departed this life on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Signature Healthcare. Born in Cleveland on May 14, 1926, she was a lifelong resident of Bradley and Hamilton Counties and attended Gateway Bible Church. She was a kind and giving person who loved birds, flowers, gardening, socializing, driving her friends around; spending time with her family and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign War’s Women’s Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert J. Ingram and Price W. Quarles; mother, Maude Dunn; adopted mother and dad, Pearlie M. Grant and James D. Grant;brother, John H. Grant; and sister, Betty Rose Dunn Clark Shoemaker.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Robert J. Ingram, Jr., David Van Ingram, John Allen Ingram(Denise), Rita J. Britton(Don), and Janice R. Womac(John); sisters, Daisy J. Grant McMahon and Irene Grant Stewart Banning; as well as fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Signature Healthcare for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Mary Ellen Dunn Ingram Quarles will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the funeral hour on Thursday.
