Mary Carolyn Pettit

Mary Carolyn Pettit, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2018 at her home. She was an Elder and Trustee of the 1st Christian Church, member and instructor of 55 Alive, member of the Asiba Court 36, member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America: Chattanooga chapter, member of the Cleveland Ladies Shrine Club, as well as a part of the Cleveland Emmaus Community.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Stanley C. Pettit; son, Frank S. Pettit parents, Willard Carl and Georgia Trewhitt; brother, C Willard Trewhitt.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Dr. William Pettit and Robert Pettit; grandchildren, Steve Pettit, Susan Riley, Jeff Pettit, Cindy Wilson, Ralph Pettit, Becky Garrison, Michelle Bachel and Scott Pettit. niece, Barbara (Joel) Paris; special friend and caretakers, Sue and Jack Dooley; as well as other caretakers, Amy Bradley, Carolyn Cofer, Wilma Graham, Liz Phillips and Britta Larado. She also leaves behind many more great grandchildren and extended family.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2018 from 11-1 at 1st Christian Church with a service at 1pm. The interment will be at Fort Hill cemetery immediately following the service.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the 1st Christian Church Outreach fund in honor of Carolyn.
