The world lost a beautiful soul, Mary Ann Harrison Hughes on Tuesday April 9 th ,

2024. Mary Ann had a long battle with vascular dementia that she handled with beauty

and grace. Her favorite hymn was "It is well with my soul", and even through the

disease she knew God had a plan. Mary Ann was 78 years old and born in Wildwood

FL. She is survived by her 4 children: Diana Johns, Scott Hughes, Donna Duckett and


Matt Hughes: grandchildren: Monica and Thomas Beyer, Mark Johns, Austin Hughes,

Juliana Poche', Dalton Hughes, Michaela Penpase, Savannah Hughes and Garrett

Stanford: great grandchildren: Lilith Beyer, Cambria Wooden, Emelia Ellis, Jordana

Wooden, Oliva Penpase and Wyatt Peabody (deceased) Siblings: Margret and Jim

Thompson, Neoma Wilson, Helen Miller, Inez batten and Jackie Harrison (deceased).

Mary Ann worked as a Respiratory Therapist in the Neonatal unit at Arnold Palmer

in Orlando and Park Ridge in Chattanooga. She loved her job and her co-workers but

her heart was in providing for and taking care of her family and animals. Mary Ann

looked forward to her yearly vacations with her sisters and niece Juli Wall.
