Obituary

Martha Jane Travis Richardson, 77 a lifelong resident of Dayton, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday morning, November 29th, 2013 from her home surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born on July 11th, 1936 a daughter of the later Claude & Lennie Patton Travis. She was also a lifelong member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Dayton. Martha was retired from Rhea Medical Center with over thirty years of service. After retiring she worked as a caregiver to many in her community.

In addition to her parents Martha is preceded in death by her husband Max Richardson, two sons Jimmy Max Richardson and Tracy Richardson, two infant daughters and one brother Fenton Travis.

Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter and son-in-law Kathy & Michael Gentry, three grandchildren Ryan (Amanda) Gentry of Soddy Daisy, TN, Ashley Gentry of Dayton and Lora (Michael) Hailey of Hixson, TN, two great grandchildren Ben & Alex Gentry both of Soddy Daisy, TN, two sisters Alice Travis of Dayton and Betty(Bill) Bradford of Graysville, two brothers Claude “Rabbit” (Opal) Travis and Tom Travis of Dayton, one sister-in-law Jessie Travis and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Monday night, December 2nd, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Dayton, TN.

The family will receive friends at the church from 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM service time.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Martha’s memory. Those can be sent to New Bethel UMC c/o Ms. Calbaugh 610 Laurel Drive, Dayton, TN 37321.
