Obituary
Martha Ann Trotter, age 55, died peacefully in her home on May 18, 2014. A lifelong Christian and devoted member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, Martha gave of herself generously and lovingly to the glory of God. She matriculated at Austin Peay State University and earned her Bachelor of Science in sociology, and for many years, she was a volunteer at Tennessee Wesleyan College. Martha is survived by her sisters, Laura "Amy" Trotter Turner, of Las Vegas, and Elizabeth "Bay" Trotter Loftis, of Philadelphia, TN. She will also be missed by her beloved niece, Emily Loftis, of Knoxville, and nephew Woodrow Loftis, also of Philadelphia, along with her brothers-in-law, Paul Turner of Anaheim, CA, and Wesley Loftis of Philadelphia; dear friends Faye Forgety, Ruth Monroe, and Dr. Les Moss and his family, as well as many, many cousins, friends, neighbors, and fellow volunteers and church members. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Amos C.F. Trotter, Jr., and Louise Phillips Trotter, who always said the day they adopted Martha was one of the happiest days of their lives. A celebration of her life will be held at Keith Memorial UMC, Athens, on Monday, May 26, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Keith Memorial UMC, Tennessee Wesleyan College, or Cerebral Palsy United.
