Obituary

Marshall V. Millsaps Sr., 80, a lifelong resident of the Birchwood, TN community passed away on Thursday night, May 8th, 2014 in a local hospital. Marshall was born in Cleveland, TN on August 19th, 1933 a son of the late Marshall Chester & Nancy Elizabeth Millsaps. He was of the Baptist faith. Marshall worked for many years with the White Oak Forestry Division and also was a deputy with the Bradley County Sheriff’s office. Marshall loved to fish and hunt but above all was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a daughter Betty June Millsaps, four sisters Irene Freeman, Annie Lee Cane, Lula Garner & Littie Kendrick.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of sixty three years Betty Evelyn Mathews Millsaps, two sons Jerry Millsaps and his wife Kim of Decatur, TN and Verlon Millsaps and his companion Holly Woodall, one daughter Donna Allison and her husband Steve of Birchwood, TN, one sister Nettie Garner of McDonald, TN, two grandchildren April Allison (Nathan Nichols) & Brandon Allison, one great grandson Dokota Curtis, and three great daughters Haley, Gracie & Chloe, and another grandson soon to be born Memphis Marshall Raines Nichols, special nephew Jerry Cane and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A graveside service is planned for Monday, May 12th, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the McInturf Cemetery in Birchwood, TN with the family serving as pallbearers.
