Marshall Hall “Butter” Rinehart, 65, a resident of Niota, TN passed away on Tuesday morning, October 31, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a battle with lung cancer. He was born in Athens, TN on November 10, 1951 and was of the Methodist faith. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and remodeling homes.
He is preceded in death by his grandson in 2008 Nikko Mack, his sister in 2009 Connie Rinehart Oran, father Dock Whit (Sandy) Rinehart Jr., brother Ronnie Rinehart, grandparents Tom & Velma Newman and Dock & Elva Rinehart Sr, several aunts and uncles and his best friend from Decatur, TN – Ed Lillard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory the love of his life his daughter Amy Rinehart Mack and her husband Mike, granddaughter Cesily Cox Borba (Luke), great grandchildren Layna and Liam Cox Borba, mother Juanita Newman Rinehart, brother Melvin Rinehart, sister Judy “Sis” Bivens and Sandra D’Atri, several nieces, nephews and friends and special friend Ross “Dog” Wilson.
A memorial service celebrating his life is planned for Friday, November 3, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN with the Reverend Carlos Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM service time at the funeral home.
