Mark was born October 27, 1963, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on October 20, 2023, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, one week before his 60th birthday. He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas T. Smith and his furry children Max and Baxter. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Majors Smith and furry child Teddy. Mother, Betty Archer Smith. Siblings, Dwayne Smith (Lisa), Denise Smith Baril (Mike), & Brian Smith (Veronica). His sister-in-law, Georgia Heiskell and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Growing up Mark was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow while in Troop 64 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He enjoyed playing the trumpet in band for several years. He also was active in his church youth group and choir. Mark was very hard-working. He played hard. He loved hard. He was a funny and quick-witted person. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana. The family will receive guests from 10:30 AM until the service begins at 11:00 am. Following the service anyone wanting to visit for a bit can join us dutch treat at Shane's Seafood & BBQ at 4726 E. Texas St, Bossier City, LA beginning after the service about 12:30 pm. The private event room is reserved.
