In loving memory of Mark Morris Edwards, a lifelong resident of Charleston, TN, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 80.
Mark, the only child of the late Marshall and Mary (Morris) Edwards, also of Charleston, was born September 17, 1943.
After serving our great country in the US Navy, Mark would return to his Bradley County roots to marry his Wife of 53 years, Martha Edwards. Together they would raise two sons, a daughter. Mark was a self taught, highly talented craftsman of reclaimed wood. He enjoyed the hunt and labor of finding old barns and houses to claim the wood for his many projects. These treasures included picture frames, cabinets, tables, countertops and furniture.
As owner Rustic Woodshop in Charleston for over 44 years, Mark enjoyed many hours perfecting his craft while listening to various music greats. These included Oldies from the 50's & 60's; The Beatles; Elvis; and good ol' Country artist. When he was not in the shop Mark could be found out in nature trout fishing, dove hunting or metal detecting. He was also an avid history buff of the Civil War era and Native American Indians.
Mark will always be loved, honored and greatly missed by his surviving family. These include his wife, Martha; two sons, Ryan Edwards of Athens, and Ashley Edwards of Charleston; daughter, Darrie Pierce (Josh) of Cleveland. Grandchildren include Brittany, Landon and Trenton Edwards, as well as Ryan, Jimmy and Billy Pierce. Two cousins, Frances Rogers (Rick) of Georgia and Mary Yarbrough (Jimmy).
Mark was a member of Shepherds' Chapel in Gravette, AR. His life Bible verse was John 3:16.
Please join the family in a Celebration of Mark's life on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Companion Chapel on the Hill; 2415 Georgetown Rd NW. Visitation will begin at 1:00 with Memorial Service to follow at 3:00.
