Marion Elish Locke

Marion Elish Locke, 92, lifelong resident of Polk County passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his residence. Son of the late Francis Locke and Dora Payne Locke, He served his Country in the United States Navy during the Second World War. Prior to his service in the Navy he served in President Roosevelt’s U.S C.C Core. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting. He never ran out of a good hunting story to tell the Great-grandchildren and he never told the same one twice. Mr. Locke is proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years Vivien Locke, Daughter Wanda (Willard) and grandson Doug Waters. Brothers William, Henry, Carl, Wesley, George, Roy, and Oscar Locke. Sisters Emily, Lillie, Ola, Mattie. Left to cherish his memory three Daughters, Shirley (George) Waters, Barbara (JB) Mull, Esther (Terry) Satterfield. Sister Marilene Hughes. Seven Grandchildren, Thirteen Great-Grandchildren, Three Great-Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church in McCaysville, Ga. Rev. Ray Harper officiating. Family will receive friends 11:00 till 1:00, Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be held following the service at Grassy Creek Cemetery. Pall bears will be Gene Barker, John E. Barker, Scott Barker, Cole Barker, Keith Barker, Greg Barker.
