Maggie Della Watkins

Maggie “Della” Watkins, 85, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018. Della was born on May 3, 1933 to the late Lester Theodore Keith and Ona Marie Brock Keith. She graduated from Belmont in Business as well as Vanderbilt with a Nursing degree. Della was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. She loved to read, study her bible, quilt and take day trips to Cherokee, NC. Most importantly, she loved her animals. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will miss her smile and her spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Watkins; parents, Lester Theodore Keith and Ona Marie Bock Keith; sister Ruby Keith Ball, and daughter Della Ray Bunton.
She is survived by her children Della Marie Watkins and Joe T. Watkins. Her grandchildren Frayme Watkins, Curt Watkins, and Cato Watkins. Brothers James Keith, Arley Keith, and Jr. Keith; Sisters Shirley Holcomb and Lenora Poteet. Many nieces and nephews and extended family, friends and pet companions; Dog Taj, Cats Pepper and Marley, and Rooster Duke.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Della’s Honor to Valley View Baptist Church Spring Place Road SE, Cleveland, TN, Samaritan’s Purse at www.samaritanspurse.com, and St. Jude’s at www.stjudes.com.
The family will be holding a Graveside service. It will be held Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
