Obituary
Lura Mae Carter, 71, of Cleveland passed away on December 2nd, 2013 at her home. She will be welcomed by her late husband Pete Carter of 54 years. Lura was a dedicated homemaker.
Lura was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, great-grandmother and best friend. Her door was always open, putting others needs before her own. She will be greatly missed, never forgotten and will always remain in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband James “Pete” Carter; parents Lloyd Curtis and Lima Stillwell; daughter Darlene Carter; sisters Ruth Anderson and Imogene Waddell; and one brother Bobby Curtis.
Lura is survived by her children Brenda (Bobby) Beavers, Linda (Dennis) Wilson and Charlotte Ann Ooten all of Cleveland and Shelbie Burchfield of Etowah; grandchildren Carrie (Bobby) Carr of Ooltewah and William Beavers, Brittany (Laura Dunn) Bacon, Jeremy Beavers, Bridgette Ooten, Ashley Wilson and Amber Wilson all of Cleveland; great-grandchildren Aiden Carr, Carlee Beavers, Marlee Wilson, Maliki Wilson and Sebastain Ooten. She is also survived by one sister Ruby (Ralph) Kephart, one brother James “Jimmy” Curtis and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In honor of Lura’s request her body will be donated to science. There will be no formal service or visitation at this time.
