LUCINDA MCCORD

July 2, 1958 — September 20, 2024

Lucinda Marian Hester McCord, affectionately known to many as Cindy, passed away peacefully on the 20th of September, 2024, at the age of 66 at Methodist Medical Center after a battle with cancer. Born on the 2nd of July, 1958, in Harriman, Tennessee, Cindy's life was characterized by her devotion to family, her steadfast friendships, and her commitment to the community she belonged to most of her life. She loved animals, Tennessee football, and sweet tea.

Cindy was a proud alumnus of Roane County High School, carrying with her the fond memories and lessons of her early years throughout her life. Her spirit, marked by a deep and abiding warmth, will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind a loving family: Her cherished daughters, Samantha McCord of Cleveland and Hayley Stanley of Kingston; her beloved grandchildren, Logan Brogdon and Emma Barrera; her dear sister-in-law, Valerie Hester; as well as her treasured nieces, Jessica Burnett (Travis), Rachel Hester (Mark), and Molly Hester (Chris); along with several great nieces and nephews, many special and lifelong friends, and sweet dogs Zella and Bruna.

Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Jacqueline Hester; her brother, Keith Hester; former husband and friend Gary McCord; and her partner, Steve Stanley, all of whom left indelible marks on her heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a further date. The family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Cindy's memory reach out to them directly for further details.

Cindy's grace, kindness, and the joy she brought to life will not be forgotten. May she rest in peace as her legacy continues to live on through the love and memories shared by her family and friends.
