Loyd Franklin Albritton

September 19, 1935 — June 19, 2023

Loyd Franklin Albritton passed away after a short illness at his home on June 19, 2023 in McDonald. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marion Virginia Roark Albritton, and his parents, Asa William Albritton and Maude Ella Maddux Albritton. Also, by his brother, Dr. John Thomas Albritton of Signal Mountain.

He is survived by daughter, Karen Ann Albritton Melton (George) of McDonald, granddaughter Brandy Michelle Green Duggan of Cleveland, TN, grandson Mark William Green of McDonald, two great- grandchildren, Taylor Lee Anderson of Chattanooga, and Asa William Green of Cleveland. The family would like to acknowledge Alan and wife, Nancy Albritton, of Georgetown, as his special cousins and best friends. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins who he dearly loved.

Frank loved to fish, and was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting in Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee most of his life. He was a volunteer Hunter Safety Instructor for TWRA for several years, and received the award of Hunter Education Teacher of the Year in the 1990’s. He also assisted the TWRA with the Deer Classic in Nashville annually, during his time as an instructor. He enjoyed NASCAR, local dirt-track racing, football and basketball on every level. He also enjoyed working in his yard, and a prime sirloin steak from time to time.

Frank retired from Nabisco, Inc. (National Biscuit Company) in Chattanooga, TN, where he began working at age 17, and retired after 39 years. While at Nabisco, he was a member of the Teamsters Union 515. He then worked for Toyota of Cleveland as a dealer courier, and retired after 35 years. He loved his community, and was a member of the McDonald-Blackfox Ruritan for a number of years.

The memorial service will be held at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tennessee on July 1, 2023. Visitation from 2pm – 4pm with the service at 4pm. A private burial will be held afterward at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Hospice of Chattanooga at 2030 Hamilton Place, Suite 220, Chattanooga, TN 37412, in Franklin’s honor.
