Louise "Sally" Johnson

Louise "Sally" Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023, in Chattanooga, TN. Born on May 2, 1939, in Polk County, TN

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Josephine Hicks, her children Robert Lawson, William Johnson, Jr., and Donna Burress, and her grandson Robert D. Lawson. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her sons Gene Johnson, James Lawson, Scotty Johnson, and Ricky Johnson, her daughters Judy Woodeson, Jessie Hunt, and Brenda Shook, and her brother Robert Hicks. Sally was also a proud grandmother to Rebecca Oller, James Barbee, Michael Barbee, Jacklyn Lawson, Monica Armstrong, Janashay Edouard, Kayla Faith, Vivian Johnson, William Johnson, Walker Johnson, Lauren Ingles, Keisha Carringer, Patricia Carodian, William Johnson, and Joseph Johnson. In addition, she was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Sally was a woman of many interests and hobbies. She had a deep love for crocheting. Her creations were not only beautiful but also a testament to her patience and attention to detail. She also found great joy in watching birds from her bedroom window. A lover of country music, Sally could often be found humming along to her favorite tunes. Sally also loved cookouts, where she could be surrounded by her family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and good food. Sally was also an avid fan of soap opera shows. She enjoyed the drama and intrigue, and she often joked that the characters felt like part of her extended family.

In remembering Sally, we celebrate a life well-lived, a woman well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. Her spirit, her love, and her memory will forever be a part of us. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life, remembering the love she gave, the joy she brought, and the memories she leaves behind.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the service to follow at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service in Cleveland, TN. The burial service will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN. Joe Cross to officiate.
