Louise Jones McCoy, 87, concluded a full and amazing life on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Louise was born on September 27, 1924 in Cleveland to Frank and Erma Jones Sr. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church where she served as organist for many years. She was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. When her children were young she was very active in the PTA at Stuart School. She was a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. Reading was her favorite pastime.
She and husband Glenn McCoy owned McCoy Inc., McCoy Rental, and Napa Auto Parts. Louise loved to travel with her friend Marge Rainey. They traveled to Europe, Australia, Hawaii, and throughout the USA except Alaska. She and Marge enjoyed shorter trips in recent years. Louise had many good friends and loved their Friday night card games.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Glenn, son Steven McCoy, sisters Lillian Kelly and Ruth McCleod and brother Dr. Frank Jones Jr.
She leaves, to cherish her memory, son Michael McCoy, now running the family business, and daughter-in-law Cindy, of Cleveland and daughter-in-law Sandy McCoy of Chattanooga, five grandchildren: Farrah Still (Todd), Lacy Smith (Chad), Dustin McCoy (Ashley) all of Cleveland and Zack McCoy (Shawna) of Chattanooga, and Haley McPhail (Blaker) of Suffolk, VA. Also survived by six great grandchildren and a brother, David Jones (Patricia) of Oak Ridge, TN and nieces Linda Kelly Smith of Loudon, TN, Janet Kelly Routhier of Savannah, GA, Gwen Jones Haile of Evergreen, CO, Sharon Jones Coyner of Conier, CO, Phyllis Jones Norman of Cleveland, TN, Dale McCleod of Dresden, TN, and Lynn McCleod Hinton of Cordova.va, TN, and nephews Dr. Eric McCleod of San Diego, CA, and Dr. Harry McCleod of Knoxville, TN.
The family is planning a celebration of life service to be announced later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in her memory to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church Cleveland.
